Catherine, an adult's trainer, uses real texts (professional, administrative writings, mailing...) so that the trainees should be confronted from the start to the real use of a written document. Evidently, in order to make these adults take a liking to reading, the suggested texts must concern them very closely : the best is to write them for these adults, or (that they be) written by themselves. Here ELMO INTERNATIONAL shows how efficient it is : its analysis methods and exercises allow an extensive work on the text structure, functioning and the practice of writing. ELMO represents one fourth of the whole training time ; it is necessary but not sufficient : as for the rest, which is most important consist of debates and written production. |
